It may be July… but one thing we know for sure is that advocating on behalf of our kids doesn't stop for summer 😎
Some of us may be getting a needed break from writing emails, scheduling meetings, explaining diagnoses, scrambling for new camp or care arrangements - and the harmful actions (lack of supports, dismissive emails, misunderstanding or minimizing of our kids needs) that make all of this necessary.
Others might be deep in it right now.
Wherever you are, you don't have to figure it all out and carry it alone. And you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time.
Join us on 7/13 at 8pm for a drop-in session with Care Lab Moderator and Community Advocate Nicole Josey - someone who's spent eight years advocating for her own and all neurodivergent kids in school districts and communities, and has real, hard-won strategies to offer: how to know when to escalate, why framing things as "our kids" instead of just "my kid" changes who listens, and why showing up together gets results showing up alone doesn't.
Bring your questions, concerns, a draft of an email - or just yourself - and we'll share, learn and strategize together.
